Common warts, flat warts and plantar warts are caused by different strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV) and appear on the hands, face, feet or genitals.
Warts are benign coarse protrusions that appear on the skin when the body is infiltrated by HPV via a cut or skin break. These elevated, skin-toned lumps can occur anywhere on the body, resembling a blister.
